Our baby was extremely fussy and did not sleep well unless we were holding her. We tried different formula, medication for acid reflux, a number of soothing techniques and nothing helped. After 6-8 weeks of little sleep and much frustration our doctor finally referred us to the Birth to Three program and assigned a Physical Therapist who diagnosed her with Regulatory Disorder. She could not regulate her emotions and was stuck in a "scared" state. A few months of massage and exercise designed to build her core muscles and stimulate the brain as well as teach her self calming techniques made all the difference.
